This is how the self-cleaning system works:
When the cat enters the unit, a sensor is triggered, setting the timer for the cleaning cycle. After ten minutes, the raking cycle begins and scoops out the clumps. The rake opens the lid and deposits the clumps into the waste receptacle, the lid closes and the rake returns to the starting position. The sealed waste receptacle allows for clean and easy disposal of the waste once it’s full.
The system is perfectly safe for your cat. It only works ten minutes after your cat has left the box. The timer cannot be adjusted. If the cats enters the box again within ten minutes the timer is reset for another ten minutes.
You can use this type of litter box with up to four cats.
Normally cats don’t like to use each other’s litter pan. With this self-cleaning system it is different. Tests show that up to four cats are willing to share an automatic litter box!
The unit is easy to clean. Turn the box off and unplug it. Then clean the rake and the box with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
